Second Annual Rhona Smiles Benefit Seminar, June 19, 2010
Our Second Benefit Seminar was a smashing success, with almost 80 participants on the mat training.
The Instructors were Donovan Waite Shihan, Seventh Degree Black Belt, Steve Pimsler Shihan, Seventh Degree Black Belt and Claire Keller Shidoin, Fifth Degree Black Belt.
The teaching was superb and we especially thank our teachers for donating their time and expertise.
Everyone was eager to train and happy to be a part of such a worthwhile event. We are grateful for all the support this seminar has received and we look forward to continuing and larger events in the future!
2009 T.E.A.L. WALK IN PROSPECT PARK, BROOKLYN
On September 12, 2009, the Rhona Smile's Team participated in the first annual T.E.A.L. (Tell Every Amazing Lady) Walk, a 5K non-competitive event to raise money for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund. Rhona's niece, Lori Kessler, had the idea to participate and organized family and friends to walk with her as a team.
The event was a big success for everyone involved - it was an uplifting feeling to be with so many people who are so dedicated to helping fight ovarian cancer, to supporting each other and to keeping loving memories alive of so many that are missed so much.
We hope that everyone interested will come out next year with us to make the walk an even bigger success!
